No images, no video, just some straight up conversation
This is a question that plagues many of us for most of our lives. It’s the thing few people in life find and most people search their whole lives for.
Here as some definitions of passion (as per Google):
• a strong feeling or emotion
• heat: the trait of being intensely emotional
• rage: something that is desired intensely; “his rage for fame destroyed him”
• mania: an irrational but irresistible motive for a belief or action
• a feeling of strong sexual desire
• love: any object of warm affection or devotion
Its amazing how one word – let me say this again, one WORD – can have some many meanings and evoke such emotion and interest. It’s just a word, nothing else; something someone made up a long ago. But it’s what many of us drive for, want, desire, and wish for.
If you found your passion in life, good for you! You are one of the lucky few…go with it and continue to create amazing things around it. If you are part of the majority that is still searching for this golden egg, then let me tell you a story.
I was one of those people always on the search for my ‘passion’. It always felt like it was this tangible thing that I ‘had to get’. It evoked such longing and emotion and many times frustration in me. I couldn’t quite get it and I didn’t know how to find it.
I grew up trying my hand at some many different things on my quest for my passion. I studied every subject in college hoping something would peek my interest. There were a few things that I found to be interesting, but I never got that feeling that you always heard about; that thing you can do for hours; that thing that you get lost in and time just flies.
After many years of searching for my passion, I finally conceded that it just wasn’t going to happen. I came to the realization that maybe some people just don’t ever find it and I was one of them. It was like playing lotto, with the odds stacked against you, knowing that there was a one in a million chance you would win.
But one day that changed. After xx amount of years (yeah right, you thought I was going to give away my age ), something amazing happened. I woke up with what I would like to call an epiphany! I realized that I was where I was meant be in life and I was doing something that I was passionate about. It hit me like a ton of bricks!
I was finally doing something I was passionate about! I didn’t find it, it found me. I had just realized that what I have been up to for the last year and a half was my passion! It was that thing I was always searching for; the thing that I did for HOURS and got lost in; that thing that I woke up and fell asleep thinking about!
I can go on and on but I won’t. My point is this: if you have not found your passion yet, don’t fret, keep searching… don’t give up. It’s out there, waiting for you to step in its path so it can grab a hold of you.
Yours in Success!
