The more I work on and grow my business, the more it has become apparently clear that creating successes in your business is at least 80% mindset, where only 20% is the logistics and the processes. And here’s the cool thing – the more I get this and accept this as my reality, the more I progress.
Why? Because when I work on my mindset and take the time to listen to my internal, dis-empowering conversations and switch those conversations, the more I get out of my own way and take meaningful, impactful, results-driven actions.
If you are a point in your business right now that you are stagnant, or even worse, taking a lot of steps back, take a look at your internal conversations and see what may be coming up that’s stopping you.
Now back to the two best mindset tips I’ve ever heard…
If you are interested, you do what’s convenient; if you’re committed, you do what it takes! ~ John Assaraf
When I first heard this quote, my first response was WOW! Think about what this quote states – when you are committed to what you are up in life, you do what it takes… no excuses!
How often are we stopped by our excuses? You know the ones:
- I don’t have the money
- I don’t have the time
- I don’t have the know how
- I have a family
- I cant’ afford that!
- I have a full-time job
- I have bills to pay
- I have “other” engagements
- My spouse won’t let me
I’m sure I can go on and on. How many times have we used one, if not multiple, of these excuses to why we have not taken the necessary steps to move forward in our business.
We so often put out in the world what we want, but when the opportunity presents itself to us, we make excuses such as the ones listed above to not take action on it. And I say we because I have and still do occasionally, (although getting better at not doing so) do this as well.
So throw caution to the wind, commit to having the business and life you want and do what it takes!
God does not call the qualified, God qualifies the called! ~ Author unknown, but first heard from Dr. Michael Beckwith
A friend recommended that I watch the ‘Moses Code’ and I was extremely surprised on the impact it had on me. I’ve never been a religious person, but I am a spiritual one; and I do think there are forces at work bigger than all of us.
This concept that God, or the Universe, or whatever it is you believe in that is bigger than you, doesn’t look towards the “qualified” to answer the call but qualifies them only AFTER they have said YES and answered the call, is pretty amazing.
What does this mean for us as Entrepreneurs and small business owners? Quite simply that it’s in saying YES to who we want to have, be and do in our business that qualifies us. The how can come later. When you step into the realm of possibility, opportunities present themselves to you… you just have to pay attention.
So let me ask you something; and I want to really be honest with yourself here – are you just interested in what you are doing in your business or are you committed!
